I haven’t been in contact since April last year!
Here are a few things I have been up to
Decorex 2019 London Olympia
I had such a great week in London getting my stand ready for Decorex with the help of my youngest son Richard. We had fun and games trying to decorate the stand with very few tools but managed to paint and wallpaper it in time for the show. I met some fabulous people over 4 days and I really enjoyed myself. Its really the only time I get out of Northumberland to be in the real world of London interiors. Foot fall was very high compared to last year and I have already booked my stand for 2020 so see you there!!
Collaboration with Troynorth trimmings
Also at Decorex I launched a new trimmings collection with an old established business called Troynorth. We are both located very near to Hexham in Northumberland. Ichel Francis the MD of Troynorth and I worked hard to put this collection together which consists of fabric tape/borders, pom poms, fringes, cords and half fan edges. It took us ages to put it together and we used some great colours, there is a bit of something for everyone within this collection. The name of the collection is called Empress Garden and it has been so well received and will really jazz up any project. I took lots of photos before Decorex of it in action and I have included a few photos below. If you would like samples you need to visit www.troynorth.com and they can send you some.
Collaboration with Balmain & Balmain handmade sofas
Also at Decorex I organised to have a beautiful handmade sofa made out of Georgie Girl blue fabric., I showed this beautiful sofa on the stand at Decorex. I took it home and put it in my drawing room and I have to say it is one of the most comfy sofas I have ever sat on. I was so please with the result and we piped the sofa in my new reflection cord from the new trimmings collection. If you would like to see more of what Balmain & Balmain do then visit their website here.
Mirabel Foundation House in Melbourne Australia
I seem to have been involved in quite a few charity events on the other side of the world in Australia. I was asked to send over my Tiger Blue wallpaper to Diane Bergeron who designed a fabulous house in Melbourne, top to bottom for the Mirabel Foundation which is a wonderful charity supporting orphaned and abandoned children due to their parent’s drug us. My wallpaper was used in the Library and I was delighted to see a double page spread in Australian House and Garden magazine.
Christmas House shoot with Sara Bird The contented nest
We had great fun right at the beginning of December when Sara Bird came to do a Christmas shoot at my house. She arrived on 1st December and I have never had to buy a Christmas tree in November before which proved quite hard to find! Two days later and all the furniture moved to within an inch of its life, she eventually finished. Gosh Sara is a hard worker and I am looking forward to seeing the photos she styled in magazines in December 2020.
Portsea Polo charity cushions for the Alfred Foundation
Jill Cutchey a friend of mine in Melbourne was organising a tent for the Alfred Foundation at Portsea Polo near Melbourne in Australia. She asked if I could donate 18 cushions for the event to decorate the sitting area outside the tent. They took me ages to make but I eventually finished and sent them just after Christmas. The Polo started on 11th January and was a great success but nearly did not go ahead because of the bush fires and weather. Jill managed to raise a great deal for the Alfred foundation which is a charity run by medical professionals helping towards critical care. My fabrics have always been available in Australia and my Agent Nicola Lawrence has now retired from her business so they are available @kerry_kerryandco (instagram).
I hope you enjoyed my news and I will make sure I add more a bit more often. I have been so busy its hard to remember to add to my blog or mailing list. If you ever need any wallpaper or fabric samples or a brochure, send me an email with what you would like and your address.
I have lots of fun things planned for this year, there is quite a bit I can’t show you right now but there is new fabric and wallpaper coming soon and lots of photos of redecorations of my house. I have just repainted my kitchen units over the Christmas holidays and I will be starting on some spare rooms and my drawing room next.
Thank you of reading this newsletter and hope to hear from you soon
